The representative of state, at the North West executive council, governor Adolph Lele lafrique Deben, has urged regional councilors to be selfless, rigorous and thorough as they deliberate at the September Ordinary gathering holding under the theme "medium term(2026-2028) budget framework orientation session"

Governor Lele lafrique said as they prepare the final budget before their mandate expires, the principal focus should be on ensuring that it reflects the aspirations of the people in terms of Infrastructure, Education, Healthcare and Cultural Development.

"The examination and adoption of the budget should be your paramount focus as it is the financial embodiment of our development priorities", he told them.

He said the session was timely, considering it's coming few days after the inauguration and commissioning of the Bamenda-Babadjou road, and the laying of the foundation stone for the construction of the urban bypass by prime minister, Chief Dr.Joseph Dion Ngute, that will facilitate trade and boast economic activities in the region.

While appreciating the role the regional assembly has been able to play in the materialization of the decentralized process, he reminded that regional councilors that their mandate ends soonest with regional elections fixed for November 30. The importance of the current session cannot be overemphasized, cautioning them to demonstrate their commitment once more to the people they represent and wish to continue to represent.

With presidential campaigns about to be launched, governor Adolph Lele lafrique seized the occasion to call on the regional assembly actors, to work in ensuring that peace reigns before, during and after the elections, shunning hate and divide tendencies.

"We must collectively reject all forms of violence, hate speech and any other rhetoric that seeks to divide us" he added.

He condemned in the strongest terms the call for school boycott, calling on parents to disregard such calls and send their children to school.

"Education is the bedrock of every society that aspires to develop and mustn't be toiled with by hoodlums. We must stand firm to protect the right for every child to learn in peace".
