Celebrating the Ruby Jubilee of the Cameroon's People Democratic party, the CPDM, at the Bamenda Congress Hall, Birth place of the party in march of 1985, the  militants and sympathizers jointly made the fervent call for the national president of the party, His Excellency Paul Biya, to launch his presidential campaign in its birth place.

This is after making known, their ambition to see president Biya stand as their natural candidate for the presidential polls come October, .

The Interim Head of the CPDM Permanent Regional Delegation to the North West, Senator Mrs Regina Mundi, who doubles as the party's Political Bureau member, in a strong worded message to the militants on Monday March 24, said,  celebrating at the Bamenda congress hall,  the maternity ward were the party was birthed remains a historic milestone in the life of the party.

"..hence, we call on president Paul Biya our natural candidate, to launch his campaign here in Bamenda, in this very congress hall which gave birth to the party" she said

The North West CPDM Permanent head added that despite the storms, trials and tribulations over the past four decades, the CPDM continue to grow stronger, achieving great victories in all political competitions it has contested.

Her call for the militants to rally and stand firm behind president Paul Biya when he comes to launch his campaign in his second home, the destination of his first political outing, was backed by a motion of support from the militants read by professor Rosline Motia.

A portion of it reads ".. We the militants and sympathizers of the party in the North West Region, have a special plea for you, because we have remained constantly conscious that the CPDM party was founded in the NWR in this very congress hall, 40 years ago. That the Ruby Jubilee of this political party, coincides with this presidential election of 2025, is not a mere coincidence, Rather we strongly believe that it is a pointer to the fact that the Congress hall in Bamenda will forever remain that place where the CPDM will always returned for renewed momentum and for further victories. In the light of this view, we plead that the presidential elections of 2025, will be launched here in the North West region, in the Bamenda Congress hall"

The motion was handed to North West governor, through his secretary general for onward transmission to the president of the Republic.

Speaking earlier as he welcomes the militants, the Section President for Mezam1B, Cletus Anye Matoyah, had launched a call for militants of the party in the region to rise up to challenge of working hard this elective year to give the head of state president Paul Biya, victory in the forth coming presidential election in the line with the theme of the 40th anniversary.

"..therefore, as we rightfully celebrate this Ruby Jubilee under our emblematic and illustrious leader under the theme 'Let us stand ready, behind President Paul Biya, to take up the challenge of a clear, transparent and unambiguous victory for the CPDM candidate in the presidential election', may we, militants of the party in the North West region in general, rise up to the challenge of working hard this elective year, mobilising and sensitizing all our militants and sympathizers from the nooks and crannies, to do the right thing of giving the head of state the victory he deserves in the forth coming presidential election"

For this to happen, he told his comrades to enlist their names on the voters register, which he affirmed was the only way of arming themselves and ensuring continuity in democracy and good governance.

Recognizing pace setters and trailblazers of CPDM party at 40th anniversary celebration.

During the celebration of the Ruby jubilee in Bamenda, some militants were decorated for having militated with the party since creation and for their contributions in giving visibility to the party in the North West

That the party holds majority seats in the senate, parliament and councils in the North West, is largely thanks to the role they played and continue to play.

They were described as shining examples and called upon to pass on the virtues of endurance and discipline to the younger militants.

Notably amongst them is the current head of the North West permanent delegation, senator Mrs Regina mundi. Despite all the challenges she went through for being a militant for the party, she has continue to stand by the ideologies and conduct of the party and it's principles.

Also featuring is Cletus Anye Matoyah. The current Mezam1B section president was a force to reckon with in the 80's and 90's and still a very significant strategist of the party in the North West today. That the CPDM party gained popularity in the North West in the hay days of the SDF was largely thanks to the role he played and is still playing.

Also conspicuous on the list is Ntam Michael Ntam, one of the political maradona of the CPDM in the North West, currently the head of one of the sub sections in Mezam1C. His activities and loyalty within the party circle was also saluted and commended.
