In presenting the activity report and 2025 projections of the Presidential Plan for the Reconstruction and Development of the North West and South West Regions, it's Steering Committee Chairperson, Paul Tasong, Friday July 4th, at the Bamenda congress hall, revealed that the program has so far re-established and issued 400 lost documents, including birth certificates, to those who lost them under diverse circumstances as a result of the conflict in the North West.



Paul Tasong said while 71 Schools, 14 health centers, 14 water points, 14 markets and 6 bridges have been constructed and rehabilitated, over 200 youths have so far benefited start-up funds for their businesses as at June 30 2025.

The report also stipulates that over 1,400 hectares of farm lands have so far been rehabilitated, and some 1,675 farmers supported with equipments tools and materials under the Recovery Phase of the reconstruction program that seeks to rehabilitate essential infrastructure, revitalize the local economy and promote social cohesion.

Over 80 socio-cultural events have also been organized in an effort to contribute to the return of peace in the various localities in the region, he added. 

The steering committee chair, explained that, it is thanks to the development phase of the program that the Bamenda-Babadjou road has been realized to the tune of over 80billion.


The Bamenda urban crossing and the upcoming works on the Bamenda city roads, funded by the French development agency is gradually becoming a reality, thanks to the reconstruction program. 

Minister Paul Tasong, indicated that a total 154 billion is required to realize projects for the recovery phase but the PPRD has been able to raise just 46billion.

30 billion has been engaged in projects while 16billion will be engaged in the 2025 annual budget which require a total sum of over 25billion for projects in the two regions.

Over 10 billion has been allocated for programs in the north west region which include, 32 schools, 13 health centers etc, to be rehabilitated.

In analyzing PPRD projects to be executed this year, he said over 85% of the projects will be directly implemented by local and regional partners.
