NWRA: Divisional Representatives, examine, adopt landmark projects to be executed under 2026 budget


Divisional representatives at the June Ordinary Session

The 70 divisional representatives from the seven divisions at the North West regional assembly have scrutinized, make adjustments and highlight projects to be carried out in their respective divisions under the 2026 budget.

This follows the 2026 budgetary orientation debate, the central theme under which the 2025 June Ordinary Session is unfolding at the Assembly.

From Boyo Division, the divisional coordinator Jude Waindim says the division was first to execute all its PDI(Peace and Development Initiatives) programs for phase I. He expressed the need for a project on tourism to be matured in Belo. Other projects in the education and health.


The divisional representatives from Bui advocated for the consideration of some projects that had earlier been matured, which needs urgent attention. They talked about the construction of private wards in the district hospitals of Jakiri and Oku. The purchase of an ambulance for kumbo district hospital, construction of classrooms in Tatum, rehabilitation of some schools and the need for the 2026 budget to target a production of a land use plan for the division.

For Menchum, the divisional coordinator salutes the fact that almost all sub divisions have  projects, but for Furu Awa which they said should be looked into. The divisional representatives express appreciation for the Benakuma health district hospital that has been allocated to future in the 2026 investment plan of the regional assembly.



Donga Mantung also acknowledged to have received a good number of projects with some, pending maturation.

Momo also saluted the works that are going on in the division already for this first semester of 2025 and reported an increase in the number of schools that have gone functional from  last year. From 24 in 2024 to 40 schools in 2025. The representatives were also grateful for the 3 district hospitals in the division that have benefited enormous support from the assembly.

Ngoketunjia in it's many projects said the division desire to see one of it's lone district hospitals be transformed to an annex hospital in the division,

While in Mezam, there are plans to construction of a mortuary in Tubah among others

The session which took off July 14 will conclude May 16.
