Bamenda II Council Mayor Chenwi Peter, Presents what His Council, Cameroon Overall Can Offer at Canada-Africa Summit
The leader of the Bamenda II municipality, mayor Chenwi Peter is currently on a working visit to Canada for the 3rd time.
This is after a groundbreaking visit to Toronto in August of 2024 when he laid the grounds works for the establishment of a partnership cooperation between his council and officials of the city council of Brampton,Ontario Province.
The next visit of November of 2024 saw the cementing of a partnership agreement between his Bamenda II Council and the Canadian authorities, which led to the creation of the Gurat Aftican Business Center in Toronto - Canada.
Mayor Chenwi Peter is currently in Canada, this time around his departure from his municipality, necessitated by the fact that he had to be guest speaker at the Canada -Africa business forum, Connecting Business Influencers, leaders at the Pearson Convention Center in Toronto, which took place between July 2nd to the 4th.
Mounting the rostrum during the Business Summit, Mayor Peter CHENWI, who was 1 of the only 2 Guest Speakers at the Summit coming from Africa, highlighted the strategic role Bamenda II Council in particular and Cameroon in general could play in the on-going Canada-Africa Business Development initiatives being established in Canada.
Projecting Cameroon's image as "Africa in Miniature", he outlined some of Cameroon's potentials in the areas of Agriculture, Energy, Minerals, etc.
Through his visits, discussions and cooperation in Canada, Mayor Peter CHENWI looks forward to financing for the establishment of a Waste Management Plant within Bamenda II Municipality, for the treatment and transformation of both organic and inorganic waste into useful by-products like electricity, fuels and fertilizer, amongst other key products that will benefit the population of Bamenda II Municipality and Cameroon in general, through the creation of between 10.000 to 15.000 new job opportunities, better waste management, environmental protection, reduction in juvenile delinquency, etc.
On the sidelines of his mission, Mayor Peter CHENWI took some time off to commune with Cameroonians in Toronto, like Mr. Emmanuel Ntoko of Aurora, who has been supporting some Bamenda II Council Projects, as well as paving the way for the Council to start cooperation with some major City Councils in Ontario, Canada.
