Bamenda II council mayor, Chenwi Peter shares with Ntambag Muslim Community as they observe Ramadan

As Muslims all accross Cameroon and beyond observe ramadan - the Holy Month of Fasting were they fast and pray between the break of dawn until sunset in preparation for the Eid al - Fitr, those of the Ntambag community within the Bamenda II municipality have benefited from basic traditional commodities to help them pass through this spiritual activity without stress.
A consignment of traditional basic food items like Rice, Flour and Sugar was offered to them by the mayor of Bamenda II council, Chenwi Peter on Saturday March 15th at the Bamenda central mosque as they prepare for their afternoon 3:40pm daily prayer this period.
Handing the basic food items to help them break their fast at the close of each day, the mayor told them " We are not here to campaign nor engage in politics, we are here to greet you people as you continue this spiritual journey of fasting, your prayers during this period like always is what is helping us the administrators of this municipality and our council to succeed. It is your prayer that brings us peace in this community"
Mayor Chenwi also saluted the peaceful coexistence of the Muslims and Christians in the Ntambag community, who share and celebrate with each other always and particularly within the festive seasons, assuring them that more will come at the end of ramadan.
" We are living as one in this community which aligns with our vision of national integration. The Muslims in this community are too committed and share a lot with the non Muslims, reason why during this period of fasting, we have to show that spirit of solidarity"
The gesture was appreciated by the muslim community of Ntambag, through one of their leaders, the assistant 'Sariki' Alhadji Bala Tamko. He prayed for Allah to give the mayor, the strength and grace to do more and to bless the source for more to come.
His words were supplemented by that of Alhadji mustapha who acknowledged that within the community, Muslims and Christians dialogue together and speak about God together. He prayed for such unity to never depart from the community.
The mayor was accompanied for the donation exercise by his 1st and 2nd deputies, Louis Angwafor and Azah victorine respectively together with some councilors
Ramadan, the holy ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar during which muslims refrain from certain habits, began on February 28th and will conclude on the evening of Sunday March 30th, with the exact date contingent with the sighting of the moon.
it will be crowned with the Eid al-Fitr, a religious celebration and holiday.
