The head coach of Young Sports Academy - Nkyabo Martin says the management of the club is still struggling to build a team after many players left at the end of the 2021 football season.

He was speaking after loosing his first match against NW regional league club Bafmeng United at the Bamenda Pre-season Solidarity Tournament.

The elite one club put up an impressive performance with a beautiful combination of short passes to the satisfaction and admiration of it's fans, but failed to concretize them and overpower Bafmeng United that held a solid defence line till the end of the encounter.

The lone goal of the second game of the day came from Bafmeng's striker Fombad Blaise within the first 10 minutes of the first half and that was it.

"Following the departure of some players abroad with some switching sides, we've brought in a couple of young new players. It's now important that we build a team with plenty of understanding. They're still getting to know each other and this is their first friendly game"

The coach said he's still struggling to put in place a play idea and what he experienced despite their lost to Bafmeng is encouraging, with quality and potential sighted already.

He, like other coaches told MNews237 that his objectives lined up with that of the organizing committee, and that's preparing his team for the upcoming championship in the country.

"Though we're not really playing to win it's still important we do for the morals. However the games we're looking for to win are games against teams like Coton Sport, Canon etc. To do that we need a play formation and idea that the players can understand and deliver the results" he added
