Newly promoted team manager for hilltop strikers Ngwa Remy says he's satisfied with his teams performance and the competition
The first goal of the competition pitting Hiltop strikers against newly promoted elite two side Rangers FC of Bafut came 28 minutes after spectacular play, with Tanwnui Bernard of hilltop strikers shirting jersey number 8 disvirgining the nets of his opponent's shots stopper.
Beautiful play continued to the amusement of spectators who turned out in their hundreds to cheer not just the team but salute Fecafoot North West and the tournament organizers for the timely initiative aimed at preparing teams for the 2022 season.
At the end of first 45 minutes of the encounter Hilltop Strikers was still leading by 1-0.
The sound of the whistle from the central referee Ngamche, assisted by Shikan Cyril and Tufoin Feliberth on the sidelines, resumed the last 45 minutes of the game between the two football giants after the usual short break.
Hilltop Strikers, who had managed to hold on to their 1-0 lead finally bow to pressure from Bafut Rangers in the last minutes of the game after Ndonwie Fielding, who obviously retained the advice from his head coach during the break succeeded in slotting in the equaliser of the encounter.
The opening match still at it's group stage separated the two teams with a point each.
"We've trained for three weeks and this is the first official match that we're having against a division two team that has been on the pitch frequently.
I however wasn't happy with the fact that we had to concede a goal just about one minute to the end of the game" Ngwa Remy aded.
8 teams shared into 4 pools are taking part in the tournament and shall be compensated with participating bonuses before engaging the league proper this season.
