Two people including a Police Officer arrested with fresh leopard skins in Yaounde

  The seized consignment Two suspected traffickers including a Police Officer were arrested on December 17 in Yaounde for the illegal possession of leopard skins. They were arrested following a crackdown operation carried out by wildlife officials of the Center Regional Delegation of Forestry and Wildlife in collaboration with the Center Regional Division of Judicial Police. They were attempting to sell the leopard skins when wildlife officials apprehended them.  The suspects were found at the Nsimeyong neighbourhood with two leopard skins which they concealed in a bag. They are part of a trafficking ring between Gabon and Cameroon and one of the suspects is a Police Officer who uses his position to provide impunity for the ring. Public Investment Budget: Mezam Follow-up Committee express satisfaction with execution rate of 2025 projects

Martial Gnoukapasir Mezam participatory follow-up Committee members in plenary The follow up committee, tasked with ensuring that projects finance under the public investment budget are properly executed to benefit the population of Mezam Division in the North West region, has applauded the rate of physical realization of  2025 projects accorded the division. This follows an evaluation meeting that took place Thursday January 15 at the conference hall of the North West Regional delegation of the Economy, Planning and Regional Development. Mezam for 2025 had a total of 97 projects, funded to the tune of 2billion, 941million, 546 thousand, 286  francs. Minepat Mezam divisional delegate Mawo Evelyn, via a power point presentation of executed projects, revealed at the session that 71 out of the 97 projects had been completely realized by the end of 2025, with a physical realization rate of 86.73%, financial engagement at 97%. Three suspected traffickers arrested for illegal possession, trafficking of African grey parrots in Bertoua

An MNews Publication  Some of the 60 African grey parrots seized Three suspected traffickers have been arrested in Bertoua for the illegal possession and trafficking of African grey parrots. The traffickers that included a Ghanaian national were arrested during a crackdown operation conducted by wildlife officials of the East Regional Delegation of Forestry and Wildlife with technical assistance from a wildlife enforcement body known as the Last Great Ape Organisation – LAGA.  The suspects were found with 60 African grey parrots which they carried in the boot of a black Prado government service car belonging to a Divisional Officer. The arrests took place as they attempted to sell the parrots. Two people to appear in court for giant pangolin scales trafficking

MNews/LAGA Partnership  Confiscated Pangolin Scales Two people shall appear in the High Court of Tibati on October 22nd to answer to charges of illegal possession of giant pangolin scales.  They were arrested attempting to sell the scales on July 3 in Tibati during a crackdown operation carried out by wildlife officials of the Djerem Divisional Delegation of Forestry and Wildlife in collaboration with the Gendarmerie Company of Tibati, technical assisted by the Last Great Ape Organisation – LAGA.  The suspects were found with two bags of giant pangolin scales close to a bus station. The scales were wrapped in cardboard boxes and concealed in the grain bags.
